The Washington Post

  • May 13, 1982: Smith as “vice president of the Jhoon Rhee Institute.”8
  • June 25, 1986: congressmen receive black belts from Jhoon Rhee and spar with “former national champs Jeff Smith and Michael Coles.”9
  • June 15, 2003: triplets earn black belts “at the World Champion Jeff Smith Karate school” in Sterling.10
  • August 15, 2004: Jeff Smith Karate in the Sterling Town Center Plaza.11
